Darren Shield's practice includes both transactional and litigation matters.  He also has experience in copyright and trademark licensing, counseling, prosecution and litigation, and data privacy counseling. 

 

His clients have included crowd funding and social media startups, musicians, artists, video game companies, and other technology startups.  Mr. Shield has drafted and reviewed complaints, motions, discovery materials and research memorandums in connection with various litigation matters. Mr. Shield has also drafted, reviewed and negotiated licensing agreements, service agreements and other transaction documents.  Mr. Shield's experience also includes intellectual property applications, and responses to office actions, and privacy policies.

 

Prior to joining Song P.C., Mr. Shield was an associate of Powley & Gibson, P.C., a boutique intellectual property firm in Manhattan, where his practice included copyright and trademark transactions and litigation.

 

Mr. Shield received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Simon Fraser University, British Columbia, Canada, and his Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School, where he was an associate of the Institute for Information Law and Policy.  

 

Mr. Shield is admitted to practice in New York and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
